Myra Elizabeth Willingham Berley, 94, of Newberry died Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
She was born on August 14, 1927 to Ambrose O. and Alda Miller Willingham. She worked for many years at Wertz Music & Appliance Company in Newberry. Myra enjoyed vegetable gardening, canning, cooking, reading and working in her yard. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and was involved in the Women of the Church activities and sang in the choir.
Myra was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Richard R. Berley.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Larry) Cochcroft of Lexington; her son, Danny (Cindy) Berley of Winnsboro; grandchildren, Michael (Cathy) Cochcroft of Gilbert, Mark Cochcroft of Gilbert, Brian Cochcroft of Columbia, Kristen (Jonathan) Orr of Taylors, Adam (Deana) Berley of Columbia, Ada (Jim) Sepulveda of Round Rock, TX, Sophie (Michael) Petersen of Apple Valley, MN; great-grandchildren, Hunter Cochcroft, Collin Cochcroft, Logan Cochcroft, Will Cochcroft, Katherine Cochcroft, Elliott Orr, Andrew Orr, Hannah Beth Berley, Evan Berley, Roman Sepulveda, Luka Sepulveda, Aria Sepulveda, Hannah Petersen, Jonathan Petersen, Ian Petersen and Sarah Petersen.
She was predeceased by siblings, Olin Willingham, Earl Willingham, John Willingham, Ruth Yon, Mary Cook, Helen Smith, Joy Thomas, Ted Willingham and Ann Willingham.
Funeral services will be held at St. John Lutheran Church on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 2:00 pm by the Rev. Mike Watson. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, PO Box 198 (622 Hope Station Road), Pomaria, SC 29126.
Active pallbearers will be Michael Cochcroft, Mark Cochcroft, Brian Cochcroft, Adam Berley, Jonathan Orr and Collin Cochcroft.
Honorary pallbearers will be St. John's Lutheran Congregational Council, Adam & Virginia Mayer, Steve & Marian Wicker, Shirley Acord Mack, Minnie Harris and Zach Harris.
