Myrna Lybrand Longshore, 84, of Newberry, died on Sunday, March 1, 2026.

Born on September 28, 1941, in the Stoney Hill section of Prosperity, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Jacob and Ludie Hawkins Lybrand. Mrs. Longshore was a graduate of Newberry High School Class of 1960. She was a retired employee of General Electric Company having worked in Irmo and Florence, SC. She was also a convenience store clerk for twenty-eight years having worked in Newberry, Prosperity, Chapin, Ballentine, Darlington, Inman and Landrum, SC.

Mrs. Longshore enjoyed working in her yard, fishing, painting, flowers, hunting gem stones, carpentry work, and restoring and painting classic cars. She was also a lover of animals, especially her cats.

She is survived by her brother, Jacob Kerry Lybrand (Dorothy); niece, Debra L. Keough (Bobby) and nephew, Donald J. Lybrand (Leslie).

She was predeceased by her brother, Samuel Dillard Lybrand.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Bush River Baptist Church Cemetery, 8936 Bush River Road, Newberry, SC.
