Nancy Collins

Mary Nancy Miller Collins, 62, of Newberry, died June 9, 2009 at Providence Hospital.

Born on March 30, 1947 in Big Stone Gap, VA, she was a daughter of the late D. B. and Winfred Helen Bishop Miller. Mrs. Collins was a former employee of the Newberry Department of Social Services and a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Home.

Surviving are her husband, Eugene Collins; a son, Michael (Stephanie) Surrett of Abingdon, VA; a sister, Shirley (Johnny) Wells of Duffield, VA; a brother, Randy (Carol Jean) Miller of Wise, VA and six grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Rachelle Surrett.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 14, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at  Sturgill Funeral Home in Coeburn, VA with burial to follow in Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Sturgill Funeral Home.  Memorials may be made to the Nancy Collins Memorial Fund, 1724 Main Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
