Nannielene C. Nichols

Nannielene Cromer Nichols, 92, of Newberry, widow of T. Milton Nichols, passed away on April 18, 2023, at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.

Born on September 21, 1930, in Blair, she was a daughter of the late Bennie Tiller and Olgie Lever Cromer.  She worked for B.C. Moore’s for over 50 years from which she retired as the office manager. Mrs. Nichols was also a cattle and pine tree farmer.  She was a member of Silverstreet Lutheran Church, the Silverstreet Ruritan and she and her husband were members of the Clemson IPTAY for many years.

Mrs. Nichols is survived by a sister, Grace Pingleton of Newberry and a brother, David (Margaret) Cromer of Pomaria and nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a sister, Tillie Leitzsey.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, April 21, 2023 at Silverstreet Lutheran Church Cemetery by the Rev. Brett Blackman.  The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.  Memorials may be made to Silverstreet Lutheran Church120 Long Street, Silverstreet, SC 29145 or to New Chapel United Methodist Church, 133 New Chapel Road, Newberry, SC 29108.

The family would like to extend thanks to the staff of J.F. Hawkins Unit 3, Angel Care of Newberry and Hospice of Laurens County for their loving care.
