Narvis Estelle Hipp Werts, 85, of Prosperity, widow of Paul Monroe Werts, died October 18, 2018 at White Oak Manor.

Born on November 6, 1932in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late Newton Marvin and Gussie Lou Mills Hipp. She was a graduate of Prosperity High School where she played basketball. She was a former employee of Old School Manufacturing and K-Mart. She also worked along with her family at Werts Grocery for many years. She loved growing roses, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was a former choir member and Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the W.E.L.C.A, the Ladies Sunday School Class, and the St. Paul Chat and Chew.

She is survived by sons, Paul Werts (Debbie) of Prosperity, David Werts (Lynn) of Matthews, N.C., and Barry Werts (Charlotte) of Prosperity; a sister, Peggy Ann Boozer Garrett of Batesburg; brothers, Ronnie Able Hipp (Vinnie) of Ninety-Six and Donnie Von Hipp (Jennifer) of Saluda; a sister-in-law, Madeline Hippof Prosperity; and grandchildren, Stephen Werts, Rion Werts, Brent Werts, Tanner Werts, Morgan Werts, Erin Werts, and Brooke Werts. She was predeceased by a brother, Cornelius Marvin Hipp; a sister Dessie Rae Boozer; and by a grandson, Neil Werts.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, October 21, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church by the Rev. Brent Nichols. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Memorial Fund, 2496 SC Highway 773, Pomaria, SC 29126

Active pall bearers are Kenneth Boozer, Brian Hipp, Derek Hipp, Gordan Morris, Joe Werts, Greg Evans, and Russell Shealy.

Honorary pall bearers are Ethel Baxter, Deloris Wilson, Marlyn Holland, Herlene Sami, and Rebecca Conner
