Ann Enlow Upton

Patricia “Ann” Enlow Upton, 66, of Newberry (formally of Greer) entered eternal rest on May 10th 2024 after fighting a lengthy and courageous battle of brain cancer.

Ann was born July 22 1957 and was the daughter of Patsy Livingston Enlow and the late James Richard Enlow. She was a 1976 graduate of Mid- Carolina High School and held various jobs throughout her life. However, the one she was most dedicated to was being the caregiver of her daughter Liz until her death in 2022.

“Mrs Ann” as she was affectionately named by her husband, Jerry “Stretch” Upton is also survived by her mother Patsy Enlow (Earl Wicker); twin daughters Kimberly (Clay) Smith and Dixie (Galen) Roche; son James “Jamie” Morris; sister Myrtie Mallach; brother James Enlow; grandchildren Bridgette Morris, Jacob Morris, Kaylynn Bowers (Caleb), Brantlee Roche, Hannah Chapman, Ali Chapman, and Clayton Smith; great grandson Westin Nelson; numerous nieces and nephews; cousins; and friends

Ann was predeceased by her father Richard Enlow; brother in law Mark Mallach, infant twin sons; twins Jeffery and Elizabeth Morris; and infant granddaughter Madelyn Smith.  

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday May 14, 2024 at 3:00 pm at the McSwain Evans Funeral Home Chapel with burial immediately following at Zion United Methodist Church in Prosperity.

Visitation will be from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Active Pallbearers will be Ashley Glymph, JD Dickert, Tyler Kesler, Colson Enlow, James “JB” Brown, and Blake Roche.

Honorary pallbearers will be past and present members of R&R Hunting Club

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the care provided to Ann by Dr Michael Humeniuk and the staff of the Gibbs Cancer Center of Spartanburg Regional, Dr Mark Davis & Prisma Health Hospice, and caregiver Gayle Mabe.  

The family will be at the home of Clay and Kimberly Smith at 1975 Smith Rd, Newberry.
