Perry Zobel

Ralph Perry Zobel, Jr., 73, of Newberry, died Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at his residence.

Born on March 3, 1949, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Ralph Perry Zobel, Sr. and Audrey Sligh Zobel Agnew.  He was an Army veteran having served in Vietnam.  Mr. Zobel had worked for Champion Building Products in Silverstreet, Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill in Madison, GA and retired from Therma-Fab in Gaston.  He enjoyed fishing and welding.

He is survived by a son, Josh (Christine) Zobel of Marietta, GA; sisters, Nancy (Jeff) Singley of Prosperity, Sally (Ray) Pickel of Lexington and Cindy (Allen) Farr of Little Mountain; a brother, Tommy Zobel of Newberry; a brother-in-law, Tim (Judy) Livingston of Irmo and grandchildren, Madison Kan and Emery Zobel.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home by the Rev. Jeff O’Dell. The family will receive friends following the service.  Memorials may be made to Cross Point Church, PO Box 1171, Newberry, SC 29108.
