Phillip Dexter Wessinger, 41, of Newberry, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at his home.

Born on March 1, 1985 in Anchorage, Alaska, he was the son of Kay Powell Brooks and the late Robert Burns Wessinger. Phillip had a love for fishing. He also loved most outdoor activities, especially going to the beach. He had many beloved pets, but he especially loved his boxer, Honey. Phillip will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his mother Kay (Jeff) Brooks; his sister, April (Ashley) Wilson; his brothers, Scott Wessinger and Robert (Kaity) Wessinger; his step-sister, Kristen Brooks; step-brother, Jeffrey Brooks; half-brother, Bobby (Shelby) Wessinger; many nieces and nephews, as well as a great-nephew, all of whom he loved dearly.

He was predeceased by his father, Robert Burns Wessinger; and by his grandmothers, Gaynell Richardson and Dorothy Epting.
