Priscilla Margaret Hunter, 86, of Prosperity, widow of John Dudley Hunter, died Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Lexington Medical Center.

Born on October 9, 1936, in London, England, she was a daughter of the late Philip Maurice and Joan Margaret Chaffey Monk.  She was a homemaker who lovingly reared her seven children. Mrs. Hunter was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Essie Hawkins Circle and sang in the choir.

She is survived by sons, Shawn Anthony (Cynthia) Hunter of Prosperity, Paul Raymond (Teresa) Hunter of Newberry, Micheal John Hunter and Philip Matthew (Victoria) Hunter all of Prosperity; daughters, Caroline Hunter (Paul) Brandt, Penny Hunter Ballantyne and Sandra (Joel) Hunter-Lewis all of Prosperity; sisters, Jennifer Mincham and Joanna Chaffey both of England; seventeen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.  Mrs. Hunter was predeceased by two infant sons, Anthony Raymond Hunter and Mark Christopher Hunter and a sister, Veronica Loader.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 13, 2023, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jason Schafer.  The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 4056 St. Luke’s Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.
