Robert Hinken

Robert John Hinken, 78, of Newberry, died Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on March 29, 1939, in New York, NY, he was a son of the late John H. and Josephine Skrabak Hinken. He was a veteran of the US Navy and was a member of St. Philip's Lutheran Church and the Faithful Servants Sunday School Class. Mr. Hinken was a member of the Newberry Road Runners.

He is survived by a daughter, Sarah Ann Mackey and a special friend and companion, Jeanette Harmon. He was predeceased by siblings, Helen Young and Theodore Hlavaty.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, February 18, 2018, at St. Philip's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Terry Amick.
