Robert Hunter

Robert “Bobby” Lewis Hunter, 67, of Newberry, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on April 11, 1956, in Prosperity, he was a son of the late Harold Horton and Novice Werts Hunter.  Bobby was a 1978 graduate of Newberry College.  He was employed for many years with Greenwood Mills where he was the plant manager.  He retired from Kiswire as a project manager.  He was a member of Silverstreet Lutheran Church.

Bobby had a great love for his horses, dogs, barn cats and enjoyed fishing with his friends.

He is survived by his wife, Tracey Counts Hunter; a son, Nathan James Hunter of Prosperity; a daughter, Hollie Helen Hunter (Mary Beth Hunter) of Lexington; sisters, Linda Guy of Easley, Joan Longshore of Newberry and Miriam Templeton (Bob) of Laurens; a brother, Harold Hunter, Jr. (Robbie) of Newberry; sister-in-law, Alicia Blair (Bob) of Blair and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at the Silverstreet Lutheran Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service.
