Robert Moore

Robert Franklin Moore, 69, of Newberry, widower of Martha Dill Moore, died Thursday, September 9, 2010, at his residence.

Born on June 7, 1941, in Cross Anchor, he was a son of the late Loranze and Mamie Steen Moore. He was a graduate of Charleston Baptist College, retired from Whitten Center and was a former Baptist Minister. Mr. Moore was a member of First Baptist Church and was a lifetime member of the Masons. He was a volunteer at the Newberry Opera House and Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are his sons, Robert W. (Sheila) Moore of San Francisco, CA and Jamie F. (Andi) Moore of Prosperity; a daughter, Marie (Chris) Wise of Prosperity; a sister, Sarah (Dee) Dover of Laurens; a brother, Rick (Ann) Moore of Laurens and nine grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Marie Moore.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Harmon. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
