Robert "Bob" Stansberry

Robert “Bob” Franklin Stansberry, 98, of Newberry, died Friday, April 7, 2017, at White Oak Manor.

Born on July 17, 1918, in Stark, FL, he was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Jennie Forsythe Stansberry. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was retired from Owens Illinois. Mr. Stansberry was a member of Glenn Street Baptist Church.

He is survived by sons, Robert Stansberry of Las Vegas, NV and Richard Stansberry of Greenwood; daughters, Rebecca Sensing of Fairburn, GA and Mary Jane Winkles of Kissimmee, FL; eight grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Mr. Stansberry was predeceased by two wives, Maxie Mae Ferrell Stansberry and Mae Betchman Stansberry. He was also predeceased by siblings, Stanford Stansberry and Pauline Whitehead.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, April 10, 2017, at Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Michael Whitesides.
