Robert V. Smith

Robert Val Smith, Sr., 80, of Newberry, died Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at his residence.

Born on December 30, 1936 in Kendallville, IN, he was the son of the late Donald G. and Gail Butler Smith. He was retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer.

Mr. Smith is survived by his son, Robert Val Smith, Jr. of Kendallville, IN; a daughter, Belinda Radcliffe of Kendallville, IN; his twin sister, Roberta Elser of Albion, IN; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 7:30 pm Thursday at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
