Ruth Lance

Ruth Ayers Lance, 93, of Prosperity, widow of Nolan “Mac” Lance, died Monday, October 16, 2017, at her residence.

Born on May 18, 1924, in Marion, NC, she was a daughter of the late James and Minnie Creson Ayers. Mrs. Lance was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Wanda Skoropat of Missouri, Gary Lance of Prosperity, Neal Lance of Fayetteville, NC and Sandra Kozar of Murphy, NC; siblings, Lillian Lowery of Virginia, Ruby Jo Lauffer of Newberry and Jake Ayers of Asheville, NC; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, October 19, 2017, at Fort Jackson National Cemetery by the Rev. Randall Derrick. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Fairview Fire Department,149 Seibert Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.
