Joseph Scott Moore, 49, of Prosperity, was born on June 19, 1970 in Newberry and was met by his dad and welcomed in the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, October 25, 2019.
He was a son of Gloria Franklin and the late Joseph Moore. Scott was a 1989 graduate of Mid Carolina High School and a member of Summer Memorial Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Men. He loved watching sports especially those of Mid Carolina High School and Florida State. Scott had a special place in his heart for his children and his canine companion, Boomer. He was a former employee of Carolina Cutting.
Scott is survived by his wife, Ashley Eargle Moore; a son, Lane Moore, daughters, Jordan Moore and Makayla Moore; his mother, Gloria Franklin (Jim); brother, Brett Moore, niece and nephew, Brittany Moore and Daniel Moore; step-mother, Sylvia Moore; aunts, Melba Arthur (Mike), Carol Bickley and Wanda Amick; uncles, Robert Amick (Carole) and Vernon Hawkins and father-in-law, Simpson Eargle.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 28, 2019 at Summer Memorial Lutheran Church by the Rev. James Henricks. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home, and everyone is asked to dress causally for the visitation. The family will be at the home of his mother, 430 Maple Hollow Lane, Chapin. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 1122 Lady Street, Suite 1000, Columbia, SC 29201.
Active pallbearers will be Daniel Moore, Gus Franklin, Lee Werts, Michael Mills, Harold Hunter and Von Metts.
