Sheila Martin Friar, 68, of Edisto Beach, South Carolina died March 27, 2021 at Trident Medical Center, North Charleston, South Carolina.
Born on October 6, 1952 in Wellington, Kansas, she was a daughter of the late Elburn L. Martin and Loma Phipps Griephan.
She was formerly employed by Kentco, Sonoco Products, and the South Carolina Fire Fighters Association. She was currently employed by Egrets Point Realty in Edisto.
Shelia had a love for camping, fishing, and anything Disney. One of her favorite things to do was to spend time on the beach and watch the sea turtles hatch.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Samuel Russell Friar, Sr.; sons, Samuel Russell Friar, Jr. and wife Amber of Blythewood, William Thomas Friar and wife Margaret stationed in Cairo, Egypt, and James Martin Friar and his wife Brittin of Prosperity; sisters, Mary Jo Young and husband Wes of Gold Canyon, Arizona and Patricia Martin Andreatta and husband Andrew of Gold Canyon, Arizona; grandchildren, Miles, Hayden, Thomas, Suzanna, Logan, and Bethany.
She was predeceased by her parents and by her step-father, Donald Griephan.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00PM Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, 1724 Main St Newberry, South Carolina by the Rev. Ben Barnett. The family will receive friends following the service.
