George Sherrill Higgins, 85, of Newberry, died Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at White Oak Manor.

Born on July 26, 1940, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Ralph Grady and Mary Estelle Dickert Higgins.

Sherrill is survived by his loving family of roommates and staff at the McCullough Residential House.

He was predeceased by brothers, Ossian Higgins and Ralph Higgins and a sister, Carolyn Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, April 27, 2026, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery.
