Shirley Jean Rentz Lindler, 75, of Chapin, died Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at Lexington Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

Born on September 9, 1942, in Tallahassee, FL, she was a daughter of the late Troy and Zelphia Blanton Rentz. She was a former employee of Georgia Pacific and a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Lindler was a faithful and loving wife for 56 years to J.R. Lindler. She is also survived by her children, Johnny (Stephanie) Lindler of Chapin, Ann (Dan) Pitts and Lisa (Buck) Cumalander both of Little Mountain; sisters, Carol Dyess of Claxton, GA, Nancy (Charles) Kinsey and Frances (Terri) Moore both of Valdosta, GA; a brother-in-law, Glenn Williamson; grandchildren, Troy Frick, Brooke and Nicole Lindler and Mike and Darlene Eargle who were like a brother and sister. She was predeceased by siblings, Peggy Williamson, Bobby Rentz and Ricky Rentz and a brother-in-law, Lex Dyess.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, March 2, 2018, at St. Peter Lutheran Church by the Rev. Dave Tholstrup and Mr. Kelvin Frick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 – 3:30 pm Friday at the church. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Lindler, 939 Westwood Drive, Chapin. Memorials may be made to the St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, 900 Dreher Island Road, Chapin, SC 29036.

Active pallbearers will be Keith Anderson, Buck Stuck, James Richardson, Daniel Morris, David Darby, and Danny Ray Amick.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bird & Jenny Stone, Fred & Peggy Chason, Dr. Carroll Pinner and Linda Thompson.
