Listen to Obituary

Steven Mark Conway, 66, a resident of Newberry, SC, and native of Cleveland, OH, passed away on July 10, 2025. Born on August 11, 1958, in Cleveland, he was the son of the late Anthony and Caroline Conway.

Steve is survived by his children, Stacie Conway-Frigic and Anthony Conway (Katie); and his grandchildren, Finnegan Frigic, Bodhi Frigic, Tommy Conway, Dolan Conway, and Weezie Conway. He is also survived by his siblings, Pattie MacNamara (Frank), Jimmy Conway, and Kathy Kavlick (Dave), as well as many nieces and nephews.

Steve was a Life Member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 18. He was highly respected throughout the Cleveland union trades community as a skilled operating engineer and an excellent mechanic. His passion for excellence and broad skill set earned him the admiration of coworkers, union leadership, and company owners alike. He loved his work and his colleagues, and that mutual respect was evident in his lasting relationships with the talented tradespeople he worked alongside.

He had a heart as big as the open road—always ready to help those he loved, and generous to a fault, never expecting anything in return. His kindness knew no bounds. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him.

Though his time here was shorter than we’d hoped, Steve lived more fully in his years than most do in a lifetime. He had a deep passion for motorcycles, classic cars, dogs, and music—interests that began at a young age and remained with him throughout his life.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared once finalized. In the meantime, please contact Stacie Conway (216-379-0680) or Anthony Conway (843-822-2088) for further information. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ohio Mastiff Rescue.
