Sylvia Bush Taylor

Sylvia Catherine Bush Taylor, 90, of Little Mountain, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at White Oak Manor.

Born on December 20, 1934, in Little Mountain, she was the daughter of the late John Jesse and Carrie Lee Bundrick Bush. She operated Taylor Snack Bar and later worked in the deli at Winn Dixie and ultimately retired from Food Lion. Sylvia was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Her interest included fishing, cooking and sharing time with her family.

She is survived by sons, John Jess “Jerry” Taylor and Edward Lee “Eddie” (Elizabeth) Taylor both of Little Mountain and a number of nieces and nephews.

Sylvia was predeceased by brothers, John Carroll Bush, Cecil “Tiny” Bush, Heyward Bush, and Bennie Albert Bush.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Randy Drafts. The family will receive friends at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, PO Box 186, Little Mountain, SC 29075.

Active pallbearers will be Mike Wise, Rusty Todd, John Roach and Roger Kinard.
