Thomas Ray Langford

Thomas Ray Langford, 88, of Newberry, SC, died peacefully, Saturday, February 11, 2023, at White Oak Manor of Newberry, SC.

Tommy was born in Newberry on March 23, 1934. He was a son of the late Robert Julius and Lyda Ray Kinard Langford. He was employed as an electrician for the Kendall Company, Mollohon Mill for 18 years. He then worked for McKechnie Vehicle Components where he retired. He served 19 years with the SC National Guard. He enjoyed gardening and “junking” as his family affectionately called it. He will truly be missed by his family.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Susan Crooks Langford; son, Tony R. Langford, Terry R. (Beverly) Langford of Prosperity and Tim Langford of Newberry; a daughter, Tena Langford of Newberry; a sister, Marlyn Dominic of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Joseph Mihalik, Erica Mihalik, Debbie Wessinger, Pete (Beck) Elders, Hope (David) Baxter, Tanner Langford and Trevor (Haley) Langford as well as great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy Fulmer Langford, a brother, Robert Derrill Langford and daughter-in-law, Patricia Langford.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home by the Rev. Jeff O'Dell. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to Cross Point Church, PO Box 1171, Newberry, SC 29108.
