Toni Alfreda Barnette Slice, 74, of Newberry, Tuesday, died April 7, 2026 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.

Born on November 12, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Billie Junior and Hazel Connelly Barnette. She was a former employee of Bealls in Newberry and attended Morris Chapel Southern Methodist Church. She was a wonderful cook and loved to crochet.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Oscar Ray Slice; a daughter, Cynthia (Billy Kay) Gregory of Irmo; a brother, Mickey Lee (Linda) Barnett of Newberry; a sister, Tina Barnette (Joel) Fulmer of Irmo; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Robert Michael Hawkins, a daughter, Crystal Michelle Duke and by brothers, William Russell Barnette, and Thomas Andrew Barnette.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
