Tracey Wise

Tracey Carlisle Horne Wise, 47, of Prosperity, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024, as a result of a heart attack.

Born on February 28, 1977, in Newberry, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Henry and Sandra Senn Horne. She was a graduate of Newberry High School and attended Piedmont Technical College. She had worked at Newberry County Memorial Hospital as a unit coordinator. She was a member of O’Neal Street United Methodist Church and in 2022 through the church founded the 4 Real 2nd Chances. She was awarded on Friday, November 22nd the 2024 Rotarian Layperson of the Year Award in recognition for her hard work helping those in need.

Tracey enjoyed spending her time helping those in need and also being with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Jillian “Jay” Wise, Mason Wise and Braxton Edens; a brother, Joseph (Mary Catherine) Horne; niece and nephews, Hadley Horne, Hugh Horne and Henry Horne; her beloved “sisters”, Mary Beth Heath, Jennifer Colon, Nicole Simms and Angela Perry and countless amounts of friends.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at O’Neal Street United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ed Stallworth. The family will receive friends following the service which will then be followed by a meal for those in attendance.
