Vassie Chambers Pugh, 87, of Prosperity, widow of Andrew Pugh, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Prisma Health Richland.

Born on November 20, 1938, in Warrenville, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Lillian Turner Chambers. She was retired from White Oak Manor – Newberry and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Vassie is survived by sons, Robert (Kristie) Reynolds of Pelion, Bachman (Pam) Pugh and John Pugh both of Prosperity; a daughter, Darlene (Mike) Anderson of Lexington; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, February 20, 2026, at Bethel Baptist Church by Rev. Heath Mauldin. The family will receive friends following the service.
