Vernie McCullough

Vernie Mae Gunter McCullough, 76, of Newberry, widow of Claude L. "Red" McCullough, Sr., passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025, at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.

Born on August 1, 1948, in Batesburg-Leesville, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Levern Gunter, Sr. and Lila Mae Gunter Jeffcoat. Mrs. McCullough had worked as the office manager in local automotive dealerships and had also worked for the Newberry Post Office,

She is survived by sisters, Dot Livingston and Ellen Cook and a brother, Wayne Gunter. Mrs. McCullough was predeceased by a son, Claude McCullough, Jr.
