Virginia Bledsoe Lindler

Virginia Bledsoe Lindler, 83, of Prosperity, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023 at her home.

Born on November 27, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Marian Luther and Nannie Butler Bledsoe. Mrs. Lindler retired from Allied Chemical/ Honeywell after an over 30 year-long career. She was a life-long member of Brookland United Methodist Church in West Columbia. She also loved the outdoors, especially tending to her garden, and reading.

Mrs. Lindler is survived by her husband, Calvin Lindler; son, Rubin (Jan) Williams, of Little Mountain; daughters, Debra Blackwood of W. Green, GA and Susan Hughey of Spartanburg; brother, Alvin Bledsoe; sister, Zora Moorer; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son in law, Steve Hughey, and her granddaughter, Stephanie Hughey.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lindler will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 9, 2023 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by Reverend Wayne Smith. Burial will follow at Newberry Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Cliff Hughes, Justin Hughes, James David Lindler, Steven Michael Hughey, Ryan Williams, and Brian Price.
