Vonetta Goodman

Vonetta Ayers Sharpe Goodman, 72, of Whitmire, died Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on June 22, 1945, in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Hughey and Dorothy Ayers Charles. She was a former security guard and attended Freedom Baptist Church. Mrs. Goodman loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by sons, Ronald Sharpe, James Goodman, Jr. and Jesse Miller; daughters, Sharon Sharpe, Cheryl Owen, Melissa (Joe) West and Dorothy Goodman; a sister, Brenda Rowe; a brother, James Charles; thirteen grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two husbands, Marion Sharpe and James Goodman, Sr. and a great-grandson, Ta Michael Evans, Jr.

Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Freedom Baptist Church by the Rev. Eddie Bledsoe and the Rev. Paul Rowe.
