Wanda V. Sweet

Wanda Vorwalter Sweet, 90, widow of Stanley L. Sweet, Sr., died Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Prisma Health Baptist Hospital.

She was born on December 7, 1931 in Ulm, Germany. While living in Germany, she was a nationally ranked skier. She enjoyed collecting Hummel figurines and loved her dog, Sandy very much. Mrs. Sweet was of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by daughters, Rosemarie (Alfonzo) Humphrey of Mississippi and Ramona Gonzalez of Lexington; sons, Henry (Rita) Rahn of Liberty and Stanley (Jennifer) Sweet of Little Mountain; grandchildren Yvonne (Paul) Sommer, Phillip (Julie) Potter, Jennifer Humphrey, Andrew Gonzalez, Ryan (Mary Kathryn) Rahn, Regan Rahn, Rachel Rahn, Riley (Hunter) Eckard, Makayla Sweet, and Nicholas Sweet; great-grandchildren, KylieGonzalez, Knyves Gonzalez, and Ava Sommer.

Mrs. Sweet had eight brothers and sisters that all lived in Germany. She was predeceased by her mother, Hilda Eissenmann Vorwalter, her father, Erwin Vorwalter; a son, Ralph Vorwalter, a daughter, Rebecca Potter, and a granddaughter, Savannah Sweet.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday July 2, 2022 at the Secona Baptist Church in Pickens, SC with burial services to follow in the Secona Baptist Church Cemetery.
