Wayne Moates

Wayne Allen Moates, 50, of Newberry, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.

Born on July 15, 1960, in Newberry, he was a son of Yvonne Horton Farmer and the late George W. Moates. He was a member of College Street Baptist Church.

Surviving are his mother of Newberry; a son, Michael W. Moates of Newberry; a daughter, Melissa Moates of Newberry; a sister, Donna (Marty) White of Newberry; a brother, James R. (Jennifer) Moates of Newberry and two grandchildren. Mr. Moates was predeceased by his step-father, Jimmy Farmer and brothers, George Moates and Johnny Moates.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 2010, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Ken Ferrell. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to College Street Baptist Church, 3240 College Street, Newberry, SC 2908.
