Wayne Stewart

Thomas Wayne Stewart, 82, of Whitmire, widower of Linda Drew Stewart, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.

Born on October 8, 1941, in Newberry, he was the son of the late James Thomas and Lillie Tramell Stewart. Mr. Stewart served in the SC National Guard and was retired from Cone Mill, Carlisle Plant. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Whitmire. He found great pleasure in playing golf and helping to deliver Meals on Wheels which he did for as long as his health permitted.

He is survived by nephews, Charles “Chet” (Tammy) Drew and Shane Drew.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, December 15, 2023, at First Baptist Church by the Rev. Shannon Long. Burial will follow in Whitmire Cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church on Friday where the family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm.
