William Moates

William Rupert Moates, 62, of Newberry, died Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on September 22, 1954, he was the son of the late Dewey and Virginia Hyler Moates. He served in the S.C. National Guard.

He is survived by a son, John William Moates of Chapin and a sister, Bobbie Jewel Smith of Newberry.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, June 3, 2016, at Baxter Cemetery.
