W. Wyche Moore, 97, of Prosperity, widower of Mary Epting Moore, died Friday, February 20, 2009 at his residence.

Born on May 14, 1911 in Prosperity, he was a son of the late Noah A. and Sarah Lee Long Moore. Mr. Moore was retired from Kendall Company, Oakland Plant and was a farmer. He was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church where he was a member of the Goldies, the Lutheran Men and the Adult Sunday School Class.

Surviving are a son, Charles (Joyce) Moore of Prosperity; daughters, Doris (Heyward) Wessinger of West Columbia, Helen (Robert) Fulmer and Barbara (Bobby) Bedenbaugh both of Prosperity; daughters-in-law, Betty E. Moore of Chapin and Judy B. Moore of Prosperity; a sister-in-law, Myra Moore of Prosperity; 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Moore was predeceased by sons, James Carroll Moore and Albert Ray Moore, a great-granddaughter, Jill, sisters, Ruth Vinge and Susan E. Bedenbaugh and a brother, George S. Moore.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2009 at Macedonia Lutheran Church by the Rev. Randall Derrick and Rev. Frank Lyerly. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Moore and they will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Macedonia Lutheran Church, 49 Macedonia Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127 or to the charity of one’s choice.

Active pallbearers will be his grandsons, Mike Moore, Philip Wessinger, Steve Moore, Dan Moore, Andy Moore, Jimmy Moore, Paul Moore, David Moore, Russell Bedenbaugh and Kenneth Bedenbaugh

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Macedonia Goldies, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Buffinger, Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Dominick and Dean Wise.
