Xaysongkham “Xay” Thanabouasy, 48, of Newberry died on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at his home.

Born on February 16, 1978, in Ubon, Thailand, he was a son of Khampoun and Tat Phomma Thanabouasy. He was a mechanic for Kiswire. Xay loved skateboarding, cooking, cutting grass, and spending time with his dogs. He always enjoyed joking around and having a good laugh.

He is survived by his parents, Khampoun and Tat Thanabouasy; daughters Kailley Thanabouasy and Nyssa Thanabouasy; a sister, Berry Lefler; a brother, Seng Thanabouasy and a grandson, Oliver Thanabouasy.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel at a date to be announced.
