What an incredible and interesting man was Herbert Samuel Fulmer, III. He had so many interests and expertise. Always interesting to talk with because he had "discovered" something new. The day before his home going, he stopped me at Ms. Amanda's funeral he told me about his annual shooting exhibition and that he had figured out the compounds in those exploding targets and that he would be trying that out. He was always into something. Our family offers our sympathy in your loss. May you find comfort in his interesting life. Lee, Carol, Joseph and Amelia

Let me tell you a funny story - First time homebuyer in Newberry, SC - Fall is coming fast and sitting in the living room I had this brawl going on inside the chimney. I shook the damper and it briefly disappeared. Alarmed I asked fellow neighbors Polly and Ken Reibe - who would you call? Mr. Fulmer - he's wonderful! So I get Herb to show up - punctual and on time - gets to business and has helper start with removing chimney caps - reinforcing with wire mesh then placing caps back on. Everything is going smoothly. So the three of advance to the living room and Herb instructs helper to clean out flue. Out comes a bird skeleton, then a mummified squirrel, then the helper advances to a back ledge - I see this puzzled look about his face as he is trying to figure out what is in his hands - WOW! Cool!!! Herb is not going to believe this! He takes the prize inside the cinder bucket and goes to the back of the truck where Herb is. Like a giddy kid at show and tell - guess what I got? Herb is trying to size him up - so Herb goes to the bucket - the helper pulls out this squirrel carcass ... Look closely what do you see? So they started counting teeth and tails - laid it on the ground ... It was two perfect squirrels mummified, the mother squirrel embracing the baby squirrel as they died together. Ya see! Said the helper! Squirrels DO hug! So we all took pictures of this mummified sight - even Herb thought it was cool and couldn't wait to tell his friends! I got first class service and a biology lesson. So sad he passed - wanted him to come back and explore some more! What a wonderful man! God bless you Fulmer Family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. God Bless!
