Ruby Ellen Summer McCartha, 85, formerly of Little Mountain, widow of Waldo Raymond McCartha, died April 17, 2015 at White Oak Manor.

Born on May 28, 1929, in Chapin, she was a daughter of the late John Daniel and Minnie Ola Rister Summer. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughters, Margaret Uldrich of Little Mountain, and Debra Ann Holt of Conway; a sister, Ruth Yochem of Greenwood; a brother, Willie Summer of Little Mountain; six grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a son, James McCartha, sisters Inez Price and Nettie Cromer, and a brother Harry Summer.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Monday, April 20, 2015, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Wako Cotney. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. May you find comfort in knowing that death is not the end. The Bible promises a resurrection in the last day. John 5;28,29 assures us; "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming when all that are in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out." I hope this message will offer some comfort in your time of sadness.
